Driving along those roads would be about riding a roller coaster. I saw photos of a road somewhere in central China that looked similar.

yes, at some times of the season it is quite dangerous, as the grip decreases a lot

I get the feeling that if a significant portion of those roads got slick, things could get beyond seriously messy.

Yes, and on rainy and foggy days it makes visibility even worse and makes the track slippery on the seven kilometers with the biggest curves.

The closest airports to Serra do Rio do Rastro are Florianópolis airports, but internationally I believe only Navegantes airport.
