Psychologism is a philosophical movement that emerged in Germany in the 19th century, as a result of ancient idealism. During this period, philosophy followed trajectories opposite to the systematic and abstract character of Hegel's thought, instituting a search for what was concrete and real.
This logical current was called Psychologism but it was soon refuted by most logicians and particularly by the German Edmund Husserl, the creator of phenomenology. To the question: “Where is the logic?” the logicians replied: “With yourself”. In other words, logic is neither part of psychology nor the theory of knowledge, but an independent philosophical discipline.
Logic cannot be confused with psychology, nor with the theory of knowledge, because its object is thought as a demonstrative operation, which follows rules aimed at determining whether the demonstration is true or false.
