To access the island you need to get to the coastal city of São Sebastião, from where a ferry leaves every 30 minutes to Ilha Bela.

Officially considered a marine archipelago municipality and is part of the municipality of São Sebastião, North Coast of the state of São Paulo. By coincidence, the main island of the archipelago (which has fourteen islands and islets) is also named after São Sebastião.
